An excellent collection of film star related signed photographs, letters and communications collected by Jeanne King (nee Blyth) will come to auction as one lot at Unique Auction’s New Years Day auction on the 1st January 2022. The collection being auctioned is only a part of the collection, the family has kept the rest. However, it is a very interesting and personal collection and well worth viewing.
The collection includes: a series of 8 letters from Helen Parrish detailing her work and mentioning Deanna Durbin; a hand written letter from 1930s child actor Binkie Stuart; letters from Eric Barker & Pearl Hackney, Ken Dodd, Brian Laurance, Lionel Gamblin, Michael Redgrave and Anna Lee among others; a letter signed Bing from Bing Crosby; postcards; and a good collection of signed photographs.
The signed photographs include: Helen Parrish, Tony Martin, Alice Faye, Robert Donat, Gracie Fields, Nervo and Knox, Flannagan and Allan, Anna Neagle, Nova Pilbeam, Margaret Lockwood, Carroll Levis, Lelsie Holmes, Will Hay, George Formby, Vera Lynn, Brian Laurance, Moira Shearer, Olivia De Haviland, Geraldo, Arthur Askey, Joe Petersen, Michael Redgrave, Sabu, Anne Shelton and others. All these are believed to be correct and not facsimiles.
There also a number of facsimile signed photographs such as Deanne Durbin and Bing Crosby.
