WWII Castle made by German POW in Lincolnshire – 2014

WWII Castle made by German POW in Lincolnshire

Unique Auctions annual New Years Day auction always produces some very interesting lots and the 2015 auction on January 1st does not disappoint. This castle was built by a German POW who was working at the vendors Grandfather’s farm at Brant Broughton in 1943/1944. The POW was called Walter and was based at the Wellingore camp.

It is built from scrap material available at the time and has been kept safe ever since. The castle has a Colditz look about it with dominating towers and keep.

A truly wonderful object of local and historical interest. We have an estimate of £100-£300 on the item.
