In a gesture of support, Unique Auctions will charge no lotting fees or commission on these items, meaning every penny raised at the hammer will go directly to the Mayor’s Charity Fund.

Councillor Mara, who is serving as Mayor of Lincoln for 2025–2026, has chosen to support SSAFA – the Armed Forces charity, a cause close to his heart. A military veteran and former member of the 1st Battalion, Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, he has personally experienced the vital support the charity provides.

As part of his fundraising efforts, the Mayor plans to undertake a personal challenge to run 5km every day throughout November, covering a total of 150km in 30 days to raise awareness and funds.

Founded in 1885, SSAFA continues to provide welfare and wellbeing support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families, helping those in need navigate the unique challenges of military life both in the UK and overseas.

Unique Auctions encourages football fans, collectors, and supporters of the Armed Forces community to participate in this special charity opportunity.

We are delighted to support Mayor Bill Mara and his chosen charity, SSAFA, through the sale of these special Lincoln City shirts. As a Lincoln-based auction house, it means a great deal to us to help raise funds for causes that support our local community and those who have served our country. We are proud to once again be involved in a mayoral charity initiative, having previously hosted a dedicated Mayor of Lincoln Charity Auction in 2022 during Rosanne Kirk’s term of office. We hope these lots will attract strong interest from both football fans and collectors and help raise a significant sum for this important cause.” — Darryl Kirk, Unique Auctions

The shirts will be available for viewing prior to the sale, with bidding available in person and online. (please note that if you bid online the individual platform willhave their own separate charge for bidding).
