Following the impressive success of Lowry prints at Unique Auctions’ June sale—where Sailing Boats achieved a remarkable £3,100—the Lincoln-based auction house is delighted to present a further collection of signed Lowry limited edition prints in their upcoming Sunday 28th July 2025 sale.
Among the highlights is Lot 1028: L.S. Lowry’s Station Approach, a signed limited edition print published by The Adam Collection in 1972 and numbered 850. Carrying the prestigious Fine Art Trade Guild blind stamp, this evocative work captures a bustling city railway station scene—a familiar motif in Lowry’s distinctive portrayal of northern industrial life. The composition teems with the matchstick figures, chimneys, and terraced houses that define his unique style. The original oil painting of Station Approach dates from 1962 and is celebrated for its panoramic view of Manchester’s Piccadilly Station, a symbolic gateway to the industrial north. Completing the trio is Lot 1027: Level Crossing, Burton-On-Trent, another signed limited edition print (No. 850), also published by the Henry Donn Gallery in 1973. This atmospheric scene of everyday life around a level crossing is quintessential Lowry and carries an estimate of £700-£1,000.
