Lincolnshire artist Vincent Haddelsey
For our August Bank Holiday Antique & Collector’s Auction we are delighted to have a small collection of memorabilia relating to Lincolnshire artist Vincent Haddelsey (1934 – 2010). Born in Grimsby, he was educated at Ampleforth College, Yorkshire. Haddelsey was a self-taught artist and a skilled lithographer and engraver.

His work focused particularly on landscapes and horses usually drawn from his own personal story and frequently illustrates his own equestrian experiences. He travelled widely including Mongolia, China, Sri Lanka, Canada, U.S.A. and Mexico. His artwork has been exhibited widely and is included in many museums and collections in Britain and the world.

For auction we have a number of items relating to Haddelsey – lithographs including epreuve d’artist , orginal sketches, books, exhibition posters and booklets, and an interesting acrylic picture from Canada inscribed “By Chief Gordon Robinson ‘Giant Beaver’ Paintings by Vincent Haddelsey”.

We are currently accepting additional lots for our August Bank Holiday Auction and we would welcome further items relating to Vincent Haddelsey to compliment this small collection.
